News Peer 2 Peer Program

Published on September 29, 2016

There is a new Peer 2 Peer Pella Program changing lives at the Pella Middle School. This Peer 2 Peer program is a peer mentoring program in which general education students partner up with their special education friends who have various disabilities & impairments. These mentoring opportunities take place during study halls, lunch/recess time, or after school during extracurricular events. Being a mentor allows our general education students to work on leadership and compassion, while building relationships and having fun in the process! There were nearly thirty middle school students who applied to be a mentor in this program. Those who were chosen are seeing the value in themselves and others while learning about the gifts and abilities of all students in this program.
