News Recycling Partnership

Madison Elementary paired with Hy-Vee to encourage and promote recycling to recognize Earth Day last week. During a PBIS assembly the students were made aware of the importance of recycling and how they could make a positive impact on the environment by being responsible while recycling. The week following the assembly the school body collected plastic sacks that were then returned to Hy-Vee to be recycled. The number of bags collected surpassed 5,000!  At the end of the week the first grade classes walked the plastic bags to Hy-Vee and were presented with a recycled/reusable bag from Hy-Vee.
