News Reader’s Theater Visits Madison

Published on February 23, 2017

First graders from Madison Elementary had a special visit from some high school speech students this week. These students gave a performance of their Reader’s Theater piece, Scooby Doo’s “What A Night For A Knight,” which they presented at the State Speech Contest last month. Part of the curriculum used in the K-3 classrooms includes reading and presenting Reader’s Theater to improve student reading fluency. Watching this performance showed the students what Reader’s Theater looks like at a high school level. The high school students also talked to them about  the Speech program and encouraged them to think about joining the team when they are older.
