News Jefferson Students Share Holiday Cheer with Residents at The Cottages

The Jefferson Intermediate 6th Grade SALT group “Caring for the Community” has been spending the first semester of the year getting to know residents from The Cottages. Each girl has been paired with two or three residents and has written encouraging notes. drawn colorful posters, and made name bracelets for their buddies! On Monday December 8th, they loaded the school bus and headed to The Cottages to meet their buddies, give them a Christmas ornament and card they made, and sing Christmas Carols! The residents were full of smiles, gave special hugs, and sang along with the girls! We saw happy tears and heard whispered “thank yous” from our new friends. The girls reluctantly departed with hearts full with the true meaning of Christmas!
