News Pella Wins Big at ValleyFest 2016
Published on October 12, 2016Pella High School competed at ValleyFest marching band competition on October 8, 2016, in West Des Moines. In class 3A, Pella ranked first. Pella also earned top honors with performances in color guard, percussion line, and marching. With an overall score of 81.2, Pella earned 3rd in the competition among all classes.
“I didn’t expect anything less than us winning, but it was the fact that we had fun–that’s what’s important.” – Dakota Bigbee, junior trombone player.
Elisabeth Sales, a sophomore mellophone player, said her top takeaway from the weekend was to simply enjoy the win.
