News Girls Cross Country Team Claims 3A State Championship Title

Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country Team, who won the 3A State Championship on Friday, November 1st!
The team scored 23 points, which is the all-time state low score in the 5K era. The girls placed six of their seven runners in the top 15, including Marissa Ferebee in 1st, Elsie Brenneman in 2nd, Ruth Dunham in 3rd, Mara Schiebout in 11th, Carleigh Altwine in 12th, and Lizzy Vande Voort in 14th. This earned the team First Team All-State Honors. Pella is the 2nd Class 3A girls’ team in the last twenty years to complete a three-peat!
Congratulations are also extended to Marissa Ferebee, who broke her own All-Time 5K record and now also owns the state meet course record with a time of 16:30.9!
