News New Guidelines from Gov. Proclamation

Published on November 18, 2020

Pella Community School District Families:

On Monday, November 16, 2020, Governor Reynolds signed a new proclamation in an effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19. The health and safety of our students, staff and families is a top priority. We ask for your continued patience as we implement the new guidelines.

These measures will be effective immediately and continue until 11:59 PM on December 10, 2020:

  • All district buildings are closed to outside groups.
  • With the exception of high school, collegiate, and professional sports, all organized youth, middle school, and adult sports activities of any size are suspended.
    • All youth and middle school sport teams will be unable to practice, hold open gyms, or compete against other teams on and off school property.
  • All high school activities will continue as scheduled.
    • Masks are required at all times by spectators.
    • Each participant is allowed to have two spectators in attendance.
  • Middle school concert performances that are part of a graded class–such as choir, band and orchestra–will continue as scheduled.
    • Masks are required at all times during these concerts.
    • Each participant is allowed to have two spectators in attendance.
  • All middle school extracurricular activities, such as Jazz Band and Show Choir, are suspended.
    • This includes practices and performances.

All events will be livestreamed on our Pella Dutch Live YouTube channel.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to opening our buildings to outside groups and resuming all activities again soon.
