News Local VFW Recognizes Teachers and Students

Members from the VFW paid a special visit to the Middle and High Schools this week. Two teachers and three students received recognition from local VFW Post 5242.

• Congratulations to High School Social Studies teacher, Bryant Hancock, for receiving this year’s Iowa VFW Teacher of the Year award.

• Congratulations to Middle School Social Studies teacher, Kristin Schultz, for receiving this year’s VFW Crystal Apple Award.  Mrs. Schultz was also recognized as the Iowa VFW Teacher of the Year in 2019-2020
• Congratulations to middle school students Sarabeth Decious, Lizzie Neumann, and Hunter Haynes on being selected as as first, second, and third place winners in the Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest.
