News Jefferson Intermediate Readers Inspire Madison Elementary Students

Published on February 16, 2026

Three sixth-grade students from Jefferson Intermediate spent part of their day visiting Madison Elementary, where they read aloud to first-grade students. The sixth-grade boys wanted to demonstrate the importance of fluent reading—using good speed, accurate word recognition, and expressive voices.

The experience gave both the older and younger students a chance to share the joy of reading in an authentic and meaningful way. Smiles, engagement, and excitement filled the room as students connected through stories.

We loved seeing this partnership between Jefferson Intermediate and Madison Elementary!
