Congratulations to Pella Middle School teacher Cody DeKruyff on being selected as a recipient of the Educator of Character Award as part of the 2026 Iowa Character Awards!
Presented by the Robert D. and Billie Ray Center at Drake University, the Iowa Character Awards recognize individuals and organizations across the state who exemplify the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
Cody’s dedication to students and commitment to fostering character both inside and outside the classroom make him a deserving recipient of this honor.
We are also proud to celebrate the Pella Middle School Student Council, which was recognized as the Student Organization of Character Honorable Mention. This recognition reflects the leadership, service, and positive impact these students have on our school and throughout the community.
