I earned my B.A. from Central College with a biology major, my M.A. from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and National Board certification in 2006 in AYA Science. After graduation from Central, I moved to Florida and taught advanced science courses at Winter Springs High School for five years. In 2005, our family returned to Iowa where I taught high school science at Lynnville-Sully for 6 years. I have been teaching in the district since 2011, teaching Project Lead the Way and middle school science. In 2012, I became a master teacher for PLTW. I serve as one of the AIW local coaches for the middle school, am a member of the Teaching Channel’s NGSS Squad and an adjunct professor for the education department at Central College.
My husband Mike and I have been married since 2003 and we have 2 daughters and two sons: Payton, Karsyn, Kyler, and Keegan. In our free time the we like to travel to visit family in Florida, enjoy the outdoors, watch collegiate sports and volunteer in our church.
