My name is Melissa Brown and I started teaching in Pella in 2024. I have lived in Pella almost all of my life. I attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri to obtain my undergrad in elementary education. Later, I attended Grand Canyon University to pursue my master’s in special education. I have worked in several different school districts prior to landing back at my alma mater and getting the opportunity to work in my dream district, Pella.
I am married to my husband, Ron, and together we have two children, Gracie and Jonah. Gracie and Jonah attended Pella Schools and graduated in 2022 and 2023. Go Dutch! We have two fur babies: Jax – a miniature schnauzer and Samson (aka Sammy) – our Great Pyrenees. In my free time, you can find me reading, practicing photography, enjoying my kids’ activities, spending time with my family, attending church activities, and in the summers, teaching swimming lessons.
