I was raised a small town girl in Leon, Iowa (home to the best 4th of July rodeo ever!). I came to Pella to attend Central College and I loved it here so much that I never left. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Central College and my master’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University. I started at Jefferson in 2004 teaching 5th grade language arts and science and later changed to teaching 5th grade math and science, which I absolutely loved. Now, I teach 6th grade science. Woohoo! Science rocks!
My husband, Joshua, and I love living in Pella and don’t have any problems staying busy. When we aren’t chasing after our 4 kids (Elsie, Noah, Isabel, & Augustus), we enjoy spending as much time with our family and friends as possible. I also love to be outside, whether it be playing volleyball, walking, biking, watching sports or just sitting around a campfire. Taking pictures, reading mystery novels, watching crime dramas, coffee, and the Denver Broncos are all on my favorites list too.
