  • Congratulations to all that auditioned for the OPUS Honor Choir Festival! Over 3,000 students from across the state auditioned for the State Honor Choir. Pella Middle School is very proud to have nine students selected this year. They are: Cassie Reed, Julia Smart, Erin Nossaman, Hannah Tschetter, Jack Stratton, Colby Van Gorp, Jeremiah Kriegel, John Carlo, and Will Rasmussen. They will represent Pella Middle School on November 19 on ISU’s campus at the 2015 OPUS honor Choir Festival. Impressive job everyone!
  • Also congratulations to all of the 7th & 8th grade students who auditioned for the SCIBA honor band! Annaleigh Babcock, Kayla Tauke, Colin Henry, Nate Vos, John Carlo, Abbi Adrian, and Antonio Leovan have been selected to represent Pella Middle School at the SCIBA honor band in November. Way to go!
  • The winners of the book fair raffle are: Nick Showman, Annaleigh Babcok, Sierrah Hilligas, Brian Jennings and Caden VanEe. Please stop by the library to pick up your prizes.

  • Goes to Gavin Rasmussen for finding and returning lunch equipment on Friday! Thanks Gavin!
  • Also, thanks to Ellie Roorda, Courtney Thomson, Keegan Oppewal, Trenton Sturgen, River Baker, Trey Woods, Jackson Goodyk for helping with taking down the book Fair and moving desks back into the fishbowl.


  • Student Ambassador applications will be accepted through Thursday, October 15. See Mrs. Pentico for applications or questions.
  • Student council members please turn in your permission slips for the student council conference to Mrs. Pentico today.
  • 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams are doing a “Can You?” challenge. Athletes and fans are encouraged to bring food items to fill a shopping cart for Pella Food Shelf at the last 2 home games of the season.
  • Cross Country runs in Grinnell today, dismissal at 2:15.
  • 7th grade Volleyball team plays Oskaloosa there today, dismissal at 3:00.
