-8th graders: If you are planning to enter the creative writing/poetry contest, you need to take your paper to Mrs. DeHaan now!
-Would you like to go on a city quest through Rome, spend a few nights with a family in Spain, explore a Gothic palace in France or repel down a tower wall in Italy? As a People to People Student Ambassador you can travel to Spain, Italy and France in the summer of 2015 and do all this and more for 19 days. -Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American pastor, activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on this Christian beliefs. A Baptist minister, King became a civil rights activist early in his career, and is most famous for his “I Have a Dream” speech given on August 28, 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. On October 14, 1964, King received the Nobel Peace Prize for combating racial inequality through nonviolence.
