Battle of the Books meeting: Monday, October 20, at 3:15 in Room 114.

Any students accumulating hours for the Distinguished Volunteer Program, please turn in your hours bynext week Wednesday. Forms can be submitted in the guidance office. We will collect hours at the end of each quarter.

Would you like to go on a city quest in Rome, spend a few nights with a family in Spain, explore a Gothic palace in France or repel down a tower wall in Italy?  As a People to People Student Ambassador you can travel to Spain, Italy and France in the summer of 2015 and do all this and more for 19 days.  There will be an informational meeting on October 25 at Drake University.  Go to peopletopeople.com or stop by the high school office for a sample itinerary and more information.

Reminder to all students and faculty to clear all parking lots by5:00 a.m. on Saturday morning to prepare for the IHSMA State Marching Band Contest.  Parking will be available at the Skate Parking Lot and the Faith Reformed Church across from the administration building.

Good luck to the FFA soil judging team of Kent Beyer, Ben Thomas, Amanda Stanley, Alex Weers, Alaina Klyn and Zach De Bruin as they compete at State this weekend.

Good luck to the Marching Dutch as they host the IHSMA State Marching Band Contest on Saturday.  Their performance time is 2:10 p.m.  Also good luck as they compete in the Mid-Iowa Band Championships Saturday evening in Ankeny.  Their performance time is 7:50 p.m.

Samantha Hedrick – freestyle: 2nd  butterfly: 1st -new pool record; freestyle: 2nd;  freestyle: 1st – new meet record
Madeline Webb:  freestyle: 3rd ; freestyle: 1st;  freestyle: 2nd  freestyle: 1st – new meet record
Cross Country Varsity Girls and Boys both placed 1st at conference yesterday and JV girls and boys placed 2nd. Congrats to all the runners!
