Saturday PHS speech team had 35 entries at State IE’s. There were 27 overall “ones” with 17 of those as straight “ones”. There were 8 ‘twos’. Way to go, Dutch!

 

Everyone who competed at State please come to room 116 right after school for a picture for the Chronicle.

 

Marion County Fair Queen applications are available in the high school office.

 

There will be a brief meeting for all new National Honor Society inductees tomorrow morning at 8:00 in room 113.

 

Auditions for the Improv show will be on Tuesday March 15th before school at 7:30, after school at 3:30 and at 6 pm. The last audition opportunity will be on Wednesday morning at 7:30 am. Meet in room 116 for auditions.

 

Congratulations to FFA members who participated in districts this last Saturday.

  • Experience the Action is advancing to state. Team members were Kayla Langstraat, Lydia Dingeman, Alexa Dingeman, Gabe Thomas, and Brendon Davidson
  • Ag Sales – Kent Beyer – Silver Rating
  • Public Speaking – Chandler Jahner – Silver Rating
  • Chandler Jahner also ran for south central district vice president and was elected!  He will serve 40 south central FFA chapters for the next year through public speeches, officer visits, and running district FFA competitions and other events

 

 

Athletics

Girls Track team should eat first lunch.

 

Early Dismissal:  Girls track will dismiss at 12:15

 

Girls Soccer will have a meeting tomorrow at 4:00 in the study hall room 113.

 

Boys soccer will begin practice today at 3:40 on the lower grass High school practice field.

 

Wrestling t-shirts are in Charma’s office if you ordered one. Some students still owe money for shirt, please pay when you pick up.

 

Results:

Boys Varsity basketball team finished their season defeating Chariton at state on Saturday placing 3rd in class 3A in the state. Congratulations on an outstanding season!
