Today’s thought on Character Counts

“If you are honest, truthful, and transparent, people trust you. If people trust you, you have no grounds for fear, suspicion or jealousy.” – Dalai Lama

Do you have lots of old books from your childhood just sitting around at home? Now you have a use for them! There is going to be a book drive for gently-used books for kids ages 4 through 12. The books you bring will be donated for use of low-income, inner-city kids who normally don’t have access to books, especially at home. The book drive will take place every week until March 13th, the week before spring break. The drop off for donations will be in the guidance office.

Two entries from the Pella Speech Team will advance to All State. The Varsity Readers Theatre group of Colin Jones, Eleanor Witt, Devin McCain and Kody Beller will perform at All State on February 21st at Iowa State.  This is the group’s fourth time as All Staters. The Musical Theatre group of Matthew Sutija, Cameron Blom, Micah Hamman, Jon Van Wyk, Shanae De Haan Burch and Julie Van Ee also qualified as non-performing All Staters. Groups with straight ones included Improv with Kody Beller, Matthew Sutija and Joe Start, and a short film by Ben Tysseling and Jason Seo.
