The Pella High School Speech Team had a successful day at State Large Group contest at Linn Mar high school on Saturday. 7 groups had straight ones, 3 groups had overall ones and 5 groups received a “two” rating. Two groups are Performing All State – POPN TV NEWS and a musical theatre entry, Sister Act. 3 groups are non-performing All State – the musical theatre Aladdin, an ensemble group – Y’all, and our readers theatre entry, Wiley and the Hairy Man. Overall Speech Team had 33 students receive All State honors.



Congratulations to the boys swim team on qualifying for state! Caleb Gaylor broke the school record in the 50 freestyle, won the districts, and is now seeded 1st in the state in the event.  He also qualified in the 100 fly and in two relays.  Carter Briggs posted a personal best time and qualified in the 100 breaststroke and the medley relay.  Jacob Nedder is going to state on the 200 freestyle relay.
