Congratulations to the shooting team at their competitions over the weekend.

  • The Varsity squad of Brent Van Der Wiel, Kolbie Van Dusseldorp, Hunter Sheaffer, Trevor Sterk, and Trent Schippers finished first with a score of 218.  Kolbie Van Dusseldorp was 2nd high over all with a score of 48.

Congratulations to the students and acts selected for Carnaby Club 2014.  Information is posted on the band hall announcement board.  Please sign up for a sound check time which is Thursday, April 24th.  All acts must have a sound check.  Each performer in Carnaby Club needs to bring a folding card table by Thursday morning to the West Gym.

Reminder: Any student taking an AP exam must attend the preadministration session this Wednesday at 7:15 or 2:00. Meet in room 113 and bring a #2 pencil.

 Athletics

Early Dismissal:  Girls Golf will dismiss at 2:20 and leave at 2:30. Boys Golf will dismiss at 2:25 and leave at 2:35.  Girls Track to dismiss after 7th and leave at 2:40. Boys Track will dismiss at 2:20 and leave at 2:30.

The Lady Dutch Track team traveled to Newton last Thursday and brought home 1st place against 11 other teams including 4A schools.

Congratulations also to the members of the 8 events qualified for the Drake Relays.

Becky Visser, Lexi Reynolds, and Jessica Holterhaus qualified in individual events while the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, Shuttle Hurdle and Sprint Medley relays will also be running on the blue oval.

Congrats to the Pella Boys Track and Field team on a fine performance last Thursday night at Waukee against almost all 4A competition. The team finished 3rd out of 11 teams.

Congrats also to Drake Relays Qualifiers:

Garret Jansen- Discus, Jordan Pingel – 800 meters

Derrick Akers, Nathan Henry, Lukas Steenhoek and Jordan Pingel in the Medley Relay.

Boys Golf had a busy 3 day week-end starting at  PCM with a win and Sean Rennich as meet medalist and Corey Elliott as runner up. Friday they won a 5 team Invite at Bondurant Farrar and turned around within 24 hours to win the Knoxville Invite which was a three peat win for Pella.  Corey Elliott was meet Medalist and Sean Rennich was meet Runner up.

Boys Tennis defeated North Polk last Thursday and then had a tournament at Knoxvilleon Saturday and swept the singles and doubles draws. 1st place singles: Jamison Roozeboom; 2nd place singles: Tom Pettit; 1st place doubles: Tom Palmer and Aaron Van Maanen; 2nd place doubles: Sam Dykstra and Colin Jones.  

The Pella Girls Tennis played well and finished 4th in the Indianola tournament last Friday against 4A schools.  Sami Wassenaar and Bri Buzick got 2nd place in #1 Doubles; Molly Kalkwarf and Alli Dingeman got 1st place in #2 Doubles; and Lauren Kriegel and Anna Jaarsma got 2nd place in #3 Doubles.
