Our District Information Technology 1:1 Initiative 2018-19 1:1 Rollout Plan
Welcome back students to the 2018-2019 school year!
We are excited to continue our learning initiative that puts a device in the hands of every students in grades 4-12. We are in our sixth year of the 1:1 laptop initiative and are very pleased with how things have gone. Students and teachers alike are exploring and excelling in ways that were not possible before. Below are the details for distributing the machines back to students. We can’t wait to see how you can continue to Explore and Excel this year!
All Students New To The District In Grades 9-12
Before you receive your machine, you and a parent must go through a Rollout Acceptance Training (1 hr). An Acceptance training has been scheduled for all new students to the district in grades 9-12 for Thursday, August 16th from 5:45pm-6:45pm in the high school media center. Please contact the main office if you cannot attend this training (HS: 641-628-3870 or MS: 641-628-4784).
High School Students
Returning students will not have to go through a training to get their machine back. You will just have to go through a short check-out process and verify you have all of your equipment. August 20, 21, and 22 between 7:30am and 3:30pm you can come to room 1217 in the high school to pick up your computer. If you do not make it during this time, you can get your machine on the first day of school in room 1217.
Middle School Students
August 22nd from 1:00-3:00pm 8th grade students may pick up their laptop in the media center at the middle school. If you cannot pick up your laptop during this time, you will be issued your laptop the first day of school during a study hall. 7th grade students must attend a Rollout Acceptance Training with a parent on the night of August 23rd from 6:30-8:30pm in the middle school gym. Students that miss the rollout night will need to arrange a time for training by contacting the MS office at 628-4784.
