8’ x 12’ Outdoor Storage Shed for Sale – Sealed Bid

The Pella Community School District is offering a 8’ x 12’ outdoor storage shed for sale by sealed bid. These high-quality sheds were designed and constructed by students in the Fundamentals of Construction classes.

Construction Details:

• Foundation: The shed sits on a durable foundation made from three 6” x 6” x 12’ pressure-treated wood posts, providing a sturdy base and making relocation easier.
• Flooring: The floor is built using 2” x 6” wood joists topped with ¾” tongue-and-groove engineered OSB, capable of supporting heavy loads.
• Framing: Walls are framed with 2×4 lumber spaced 16” on center.
• Exterior: Finished with pre-primed LP® SmartSide® siding and trim for a clean, durable look.
• Roof: Constructed using 2” x 4”: trusses with OSB gussets spaced 24” on center. The 4/12 pitched roof is sheathed with ½” OSB and covered with CertainTeed Landmark 30-year asphalt shingles.
• All materials were purchased from the Dutch Mill Supply lumberyard in Pella.

Shed Door:

• A heavy-duty 46” wide door is located on the end of the shed. It features a 2×4 inner frame with ½” OSB on the interior and LP® SmartSide® on the exterior to match the siding.
• The door includes heavy-duty hinges, a secure handle, and is lockable for added safety.

Important Notes:

• The winning bidder will be responsible for coordinating the relocation of the shed after purchase. Please drop off your sealed bid to the high school office – Attn: Katelyn Bierl by June 25th at noon.
