My path in education included earning my BS in science education from Morningside College and an MS in educational administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I served as a science teacher and assistant high school principal in three districts in western Iowa before moving our family to Pella in 1998. My wife and I have two daughters who went all the way through the Pella system and are now public school teachers in Iowa.

My personal mission of helping others and myself grow every day aligns well with the PCSD vision of Preparing Everyone to Learn, Lead, and Achieve.
