  • Kindergarten (Madison Elementary)

I attended Iowa State University where I double-majored in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. My first job was the director and headteacher of a preschool in Austin, MN.  I took a break from teaching to focus on being a mom but remained active in the lives of children through volunteering.  In 2011, I returned to the classroom as an associate and substitute teacher for a number of years in Macomb, IL and Pella. From 2017 to 2020 I taught 5th grade language arts and social studies.  During this time, I also earned my early childhood special education endorsement and a master’s in education with an emphasis on early childhood.   I joined the Kindergarten team at Madison Elementary for the 2020-21 school year.  I love the energy, innocence, and natural curiosity of little people.
My husband, Kevin, and I have three amazing sons.  In my free time, I enjoy cheering on my kids at their activities, reading, cooking, walking, biking, and doing lake activities at my favorite vacation spot, Twin Lakes, IA.
