I grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in English education. I began teaching in San Antonio, Texas, and then moved overseas to work in American international schools in Egypt, Kazakhstan, China, and Saudi Arabia. I have taught English courses from 9th-12th grade, including Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and senior research courses. In 2012, I obtained my master’s degree in educational leadership. I love teaching because not only do I get to watch my students grow, they also teach me something new every day. Outside of school, I spend most of my time with my husband and two daughters. I also enjoy traveling, reading, writing, playing the piano, running, and being outdoors.
