Hello there. My name is Brody Ross and I began teaching in Pella in the Fall of 2024. I am originally from Des Moines, Iowa where I graduated from Lincoln High School in 2003. I completed my Bachelor’s in Music Performance, Percussion from the University of Iowa in 2008, and Master’s in Music Education, emphasis in Percussion Pedagogy from Texas A&M University – Commerce in 2010. I have taught all levels of music; Elementary General Music PK-5, Middle and High School Band 6-12, and Undergraduate Percussive Studies post secondary. I have also spent time working with many diverse Fine Arts programs such as the Visual Arts, Theater Arts, Choir, Dance, Musicals, Lighting and Sound, Auditorium and Stage Management. Throughout my college years, I taught across the Midwest and around North Texas as a Percussion Technician with many different band programs from 2004 through 2011. In 2012 I started teaching as the District’s Percussion Director in Royse City, TX for the Royse City Independence School District.
My wife, Lisa Ross, is a fantastic Art Teacher who built a very well celebrated and respected program over her 12 years in Texas, and my son, Liam loves to perform, sing, and dance at the drop of a hat for anyone willing to listen, or honestly within earshot. My family and I are excited to bring our backgrounds and experiences to the wonderful world of Pella, Iowa, and cannot wait to see where we all grow, together!
