Congrats to our show choirs as they traveled to Benton Community this weekend.  Bravo show choir beat three 4A show choirs and placed 6th place in the prep division.  AcaPella brought home the following trophies: Best vocals, Best choreography, Best band, best novelty song, best female soloist Shanae DeHaan-Burch, and also 1st place in 3A.  Congrats to all involved!

 

Music performances will be in the auditorium tonight for excellence in electives, beginning at 5:30pm and concluding with the last performance at 6:30pm of AcaPella show choir’s Star Wars themed show.  See you tonight!

Athletics

FCA will have  a meeting tonight at 7:00pm at Madison Elementary Gym.

 

JV basketball players will need to report at 4:00 tomorrow night for the game at Centerville.

JV boys basketball players will need to turn in practice jersey’s to Coach Core tomorrow morning.

 

Results:

Varsity Girls and boys basketball teams all defeated Oskaloosa

 

Boys Bowling placed 2nd at the Little Hawkeye Conference on Saturday.  Alex Bragg, Jaden Ruth and Dakota Shalin had high performances.

 

Boys state swimming had Isaak Webb as a state champion in the 100 meter breaststroke with the 6th fastest time in state history and Pella’s first boys’  state swim champion. He also placed 3rd in the 100 meter butterfly with a new school record. The team placed 16th out of 34. Aaron King and Lucas Warner also did a great job in helping the team. Great job, Pella Swimmers!

 

Wrestling at Districts had Keagan Poole placing 2nd and will wrestle at state this Thursday.  Others placing were Ashton Messer with 3rd, Ethan Speltz in 4th and Aaron Born, Cole Larson, James Van Gorp all placing 6th. Thanks to all the wrestlers on a great season and your hard work!

 

*Wrestling state t-shirts order forms are on sale through 10:00 this morning in Charma’s office if you are interested in ordering one to support Keagan Poole.
