Preparing For Tomorrow’s Challenges
“Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people can be engaged in. That every man may receive at least, a moderate education, and thereby be enabled to read the histories of his own and other countries, by which he may duly appreciate the value of our free institutions, appears to be an object of vital importance…” -Abraham Lincoln, To the People of Sangamo County: Political Announcement, March 9, 1832
Lincoln Elementary is a building that serves 270+ students in grades PreK – 3rd grade. There are two PreK sections that meet on either Monday, Thursday and every other Wednesday, or Tuesday and Friday and every other Wednesday. In grades K – 3, we have 3 sections in each. Lincoln supports students needing assistance beyond the classroom with Reading Plus (Title I Reading), Special Education, along with a school-wide guidance program and at-risk supports. We have implemented Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) where students show their Pella Pride by being safe, respectful and responsible in all areas of the building.
