Jan Van Hemert

I love PELLA!

I was born and raised in PELLA and attended PELLA Schools. I graduated from Central College in PELLA with an education degree and added reading, social studies, and middle school endorsements. I am proud to say that I have been working for the PELLA Community School District since 1994 and greatly look forward to many more years of educating the young teenagers of PELLA.

I am child number four in a family of five girls. My three older sisters have continued to live in PELLA too and we all enjoy being active participants in our beautiful community. My husband also grew up in PELLA and works for the PELLA Community School District as well. He especially loves the sports coaching part of his job with the district.
We have two children.Our daughter was born in 1997 and our son was born in 2004. Both of my children have been born and raised in PELLA. Like most families, our own children keep us very busy outside of the school day “hours”.

I enjoy reading, tulips, adding to my many collections, family time,
and…living and working in PELLA!
