I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa in a family of six. I have two brothers and one sister. After graduating from Hoover High School, I attended the University of Northern Iowa for two years, took a break to start our family, then finished my teaching degree at UNI and William Penn University. I completed my Masters of Education in 2021. Before we moved to Pella, I taught Morning Kindergarten for six years and was the director of Small Wonders Learning Center for three years in Waterloo, Iowa. My husband’s name is Bob. He teaches Health and Physical Education at Pella Community High School. He also coaches Varsity Boys Golf. We have two grown children, Ben and Brooke. I love to sing, swim, read, and teach First Graders in the Pella Community School District!
