Teaching experience: My teaching career began the fall of 2004, and I began teaching at Pella Middle School in 2005. I graduated from Central College in 2004 with a degree in English and endorsements in Secondary Language Arts and Coaching.
Family: I am married to Tim Brand, and we have two beautiful children, Abbie and AJ. We love Star Wars so much we named our dog Princess Leia and our cat Kylo Ren. I am originally from Davenport, Iowa, and attended North High School where I participated in multiple sports, show choir, and musical theatre.
Interests: I have played volleyball ever since I could walk. I played competitively in high school and college. I still enjoy playing recreationally even though it makes me feel old. I am constantly singing or have music playing in my classroom. I also love to read, enjoying mostly fantasy and action series. I am a huge fan of watching movies and television when I have the time and traveling with my family.
