Teacher
  • 3rd Grade (Madison Elementary)

I grew up in Ames and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Reading. In 2005, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Education with a Middle School endorsement from Viterbo University. In 2015, I graduated with my Specialist in Education with an emphasis in Administration from Lindenwood University.

My teaching career began in Ankeny in 2000, where I taught 6th Grade Language Arts for three years. My husband and I moved to Pella in 2003 and I taught 8th Grade Literature at the Middle School for five years. In 2008, my husband’s job with Pella Corp moved us to southwest Missouri, where I worked with teachers as a Literacy Coach for nine years. In June of 2017, we moved back to Pella and I began teaching 3rd Grade at Madison. I love it here!

My husband, Brian, and I have two daughters, Ellie (14) and Emerson (11). We love to take road trips and see as much of our beautiful country as we can! We are thrilled to be back in Pella!
